Part time Finance Manager
Clifton, Bristol
20+ hours across 3-4 days per week
Salary £45 – 50K pro rata doe
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to work part time for a small but growing, niche, independent property consultancy with clients across the UK. You would be working alongside the Business Operations Director (and her dog!) based in their Bristol office.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, reliable and self-motivated person who is happy being hands on working in a small team assisting with daily, weekly and monthly financial tasks within a growing SME.
Responsibilities
- updating fee forecast
- liaison with account managers to confirm monthly fees to be invoiced
- drafting of monthly sales invoicing
- invoice and accounting queries
- reporting on month end invoicing against forecast
- assisting with debt chasing
- updating various recurring costs spreadsheets
- compiling expenses for client recharge
- bank reconciliations on Xero bank feed
- updating journals on Xero
- checking, allocating and approving staff expenses on Xero ready for payment
- gathering director’s receipts, inputting into Xero
- adding purchase invoices and remittances to Xero
- creating/generating reports in Xero/WorkflowMax as requested
- compiling end of year P11D information
- production of management accounts, management of the general ledger, sales ledger, purchase ledger and accounting data
- preparing financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner including monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts
- preparation of annual budgets and cashflow forecasts
- provide ad-hoc financial information to directors and senior managers as required
- calculation of key performance indicators to senior management as required
- co-ordination and submission of all necessary government returns
- oversee monthly payroll
- monitor/review and enhance internal accounting procedures and policies
- support year-end audit/accounts with external accountancy
- report to board on financial matters
Experience & qualifications required:
- qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) (ideally gained within a large practice / company environment)
- prior experience within an accounts department of an SME
- prior management experience
- proven experience of influencing at a senior level
- excellent communication skills
- comfortable being ‘handson’ and working with a small SME team
- strong ledger management and reporting experience – excellent knowledge, experience and understanding of working with cashflows
- excellent on Xero and WorkflowMax
- thorough knowledge of the usual suite of Office software essential including excellent spreadsheet ability using Excel.
