Christmas – a chance to get ahead of the game!

So, it’s that busy time of year again, full of fun, festivities and one too many glasses of mulled wine. But if you’re thinking of a change in job role, one word of advice – don’t put it off until the New Year. We all know how 2017 will start for most, New Year’s resolutions and a fresh chance to discover the ‘new you’, so get ahead of the game and start applying now; do you really want to become another number?


Start by reflecting on your current job and your aspirations, where do you want to progress, what do you want to achieve within your new role; what is your new role? Writing a list can help organise your job search; so start by thinking about the above and researching companies and agencies you’d like to work with.

Update your CV

Use your festive downtime wisely; preparation is key to performance, begin reflecting on your achievements within your current role. Blow the dust off of your CV, perfect your cover letter template, get your social media presence looking professional; maybe start thinking about getting round to setting up or updating that LinkedIn profile.


Christmas parties are a great time of year to ‘put the feelers out’, start by asking your local networking circle for leads and advice, because there is always somebody, who knows somebody…

Moreover, another great idea to stick out against your competitors is to get your name out there. The Christmas period is generally when employer’s start considering new budgets, new business goals and ultimately recruitment. So make yourself known to your potential employer by sending your prospective CV, start introducing yourself to well respected recruitment agencies – like us!
