I have just returned from South West Cork, Ireland with the guys from the waterski team as we were doing sea trials for our mad challenge to water ski across the Irish Sea late August or early September. We had an amazing weekend meeting our fabulous Irish sponsors, Team Pulsar, who will be providing the powerboats and crew to tow across. Our trials included skiing out to sea around the Fastnet Rock and Mizen Head. The sun shone all weekend and dolphins joined us out by the Mizen which was quite wonderful!
We are all training hard in the gym as well as water skiing at sea both at Portishead and Teignmouth, Devon so that we give ourselves every chance of succeeding in crossing the 67 miles of choppy seas and hopefully to set a new world record.
It’s all in aid of the Charlie Froud Foundation which is a charity close to my heart, as his Mum Heather is my Operations Director and friend and I knew Charlie. The charity supports Children’s Hospice South West, Marlwood School and Irish Volunteer rescue services.
If you would like to help me raise funds we would be very grateful. Please go to www.justgiving.com and type ‘Charlie Froud Foundation’ into the charity search. You will see it under ‘Charlie’s Waterski Challenge. Thank you for your support.
