I was really encouraged by today’s report from Centre for Cities which revealed that Bristol is one of the UK cities best protected from the effects of the government spending cuts. The report reveals the economic recovery will be unevenly spread across the country with some cities, heavily reliant on public sector jobs, facing a slow recovery from the recession. Bristol however has not only proved to be resilient but also to have capacity to create private sector jobs. Commenting on the report, Centre for Cities chief executive Alexandra Jones said ‘Buoyant cities like Bristol, which have been fast-growing and have lots of private sector jobs, are best placed to lead the UK’s recovery,’
Bristol to lead UK recovery!
