At last I’ve found some good news to report as the new £300m Science Park project has opened in Emersons Green, 25 years after the concept was first suggested!
Science and Universities Minister Rt Hon David Willetts officially opened the park which is set in 59 acres with green spaces and state of the art facilities. The Science Park will be a commercial hub to showcase the best scientific and academic expertise from across the South West region. Along with private investment, the South West Regional Development Agency invested £40m into the project and other main stakeholders are the Universities of Bath, Bristol and West of England.
Businesses have already started moving into the Park and it’s great to see one of the longest-held ambitions for the region’s economy come to fruition.
